The DD214 is by far the most sought after military document, as it is the document that is recognized by all government agencies and most corporations as evidence of military service.   The DD214 was standardized after W.W.II and is the “Official Discharge Document” of the US Military.  Most are located at the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis Missouri. The fastest way to get a copy of your DD214 is to go the Records Center in St. Louis and get it. Short of that there are companies that will go get them for you. There are also a lot of companies that rip you off so be careful who you choose.
