Personnel Records of soldiers that served prior to 1916 are both interesting and sparse. The records consist mostly of pension records and other records compiled in the 1930’s into “Compiled Military Records”. During the Depression these records were created by sifting through thousand of documents to consolidate information about individuals into a cohesive folder.
